Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy is placeholder text provided for development purposes only, pending review by qualified legal counsel; it does not constitute legal advice. It describes, in general terms, how peeklab.gg collects, uses, and shares your information when you use the Service.

1. Introduction & Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how peeklab.gg ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information about you when you access or use peeklab.gg (the "Service"). It applies to all users of the Service, including visitors to our website, registered account holders, and paying subscribers.

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, into which it is incorporated by reference.

This Policy covers only information collected through the Service. It does not apply to information collected by third parties whose services we integrate with, including Valve Corporation (Steam), Stripe, Dathost, or Hetzner, each of which maintains its own privacy practices as described in Section 5.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information in order to provide, maintain, and improve the Service.

Account Information. When you register, we collect your email address and, if you authenticate through Steam, your Steam ID and OpenID identifier. This information identifies your account and links your training sessions to you.

Gameplay and Session Data. As you use the Service, we collect performance and session data generated during your training, including kill events, reaction times, accuracy statistics, and your session history. This data powers your dashboard, statistics, and progress tracking.

Technical Data. We automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, and device identifiers. Your IP address is used, among other things, to construct the "steam://" server connect string that launches CS2 and connects you to the correct dedicated game server instance.

Payment Data. When you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We receive limited transaction and billing details necessary to manage your subscription. We do not collect or store your full payment card number; that information is handled directly by Stripe.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

The Service uses browser storage technologies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences.

At present, we store your current session in your browser's local storage under the key "peeklab_user". This entry holds the dummy account session used during the current phase of development and is created when you log in. You can clear it at any time by logging out or by clearing your browser's local storage.

As we introduce real authentication, we expect to use additional cookies or similar technologies to manage authenticated sessions securely, including session and authentication cookies. Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent before setting non-essential cookies and will update this Section accordingly.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings. Disabling these technologies may affect the availability or functionality of parts of the Service, including your ability to remain signed in.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes: to create and manage your account; to authenticate you and maintain your session; to provide the core training functionality of the Service, including connecting you to game server instances; and to generate and display your performance statistics and session history.

We also use your information to process payments and manage subscriptions; to communicate with you about your account, transactions, and important changes to the Service; to monitor, maintain, and improve the security, stability, and performance of the Service; and to detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.

Where permitted by law, we may use aggregated or de-identified data — which does not identify you personally — for analytics, research, and to understand how the Service is used so that we can improve it.

We process your information only where we have a lawful basis to do so, including your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and compliance with our legal obligations.

5. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We share your information with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the Service, and each provider is permitted to use your information solely to perform services on our behalf.

Valve Corporation (Steam). If you authenticate using Steam, your login is handled through Steam's OpenID service, and your interaction with Steam and CS2 is governed by Valve's own privacy policy and agreements.

Stripe, Inc. Payments and subscription billing are processed by Stripe. Your payment card details are provided directly to and handled by Stripe under its privacy policy.

Dathost. Our dedicated CS2 game server instances are hosted by Dathost (for example, at firebreak.dathost.net). Technical information required to establish and maintain your game connection may be processed by this hosting provider.

Hetzner. Our web application and backend infrastructure are hosted by Hetzner. Information transmitted to and processed by the Service passes through this hosting provider.

We may also disclose information where required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of peeklab.gg, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active and for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Account information is retained for the life of your account. Gameplay and session data is retained to provide you with historical statistics and progress tracking for as long as your account is active. Payment and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and legal obligations.

When your account is deleted, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain it. Backups and logs containing your information may persist for a limited additional period before being overwritten in the ordinary course of our operations.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include, where appropriate, encryption of data in transit, access controls, and the use of reputable infrastructure and payment providers.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security, and you provide your information at your own risk.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for restricting access to your devices. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately using the details in Section 12.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights in relation to your personal information, including: the right to access the information we hold about you; the right to correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; the right to deletion of your information; the right to data portability; the right to object to or restrict certain processing; and the right to withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent.

Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it, and may affect our ability to provide certain features of the Service.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@peeklab.gg. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated using infrastructure and service providers that may be located in countries other than the one in which you reside. As a result, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in a country whose data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law, including, where required, the use of recognised transfer mechanisms and contractual protections with our service providers.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside of your country of residence.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and you must be at least 13 years of age to use it, consistent with our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms of Service.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@peeklab.gg.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Service or by other means.

Your continued use of the Service after any such changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our handling of your personal information, please contact us.

You can reach our team by email at privacy@peeklab.gg. We will make reasonable efforts to respond to your enquiry promptly and, where applicable, within the timeframe required by law.
